Seriously, I love this show so, so much, and I plan on writing a rant on why (aside from it feeding all my revolution-and-"V-the-miniseries"-love and Diego Luna and others who are awesome) but for now: best guesses for the grand finale of Season 1 next week!

1. My guess is that Maarva planned something extra-special for her funeral-- that guy saying "grave responsibilities" to B2EM0 like he did, and how Meero and others kept dismissing Mama Andor (Former President, come on!), tipped me off. I hope her brick goes KER-BLEWIE!!

2. Luthen continues to be fascinating as hell, all things to all rebels, manipulative and cold and wow. Also, I want that freighter of his, it is beyond awesome.

3. Bets that Cinta killed Maarva: yes? No? Extra Drama? Far too over the top?

4. Syril Karn: Javert, or just a dork? I think his presence at the funeral will be so, so the wild card.

5. Can I just have my heart break for Cassian finding out his Mom died in a phone call? *sads*

6. I still love Planet Miami. I'm also fond of those Narkinians and their "eff the Empire, let's help these bozos escape" mind-set. *cackles at them*

7. I gotta admit, I thought the 5,000 man break-out from Narkina-5 would be all over the news-- but of course it isn't. Hell, it doesn't look like the ISB even knows. Melshi mentioning it was a nice confirmation of how much on the DL that has been kept, and I *do* wonder how many of their jailmates made it to freedom.

8. So much other good stuff: that excellent scene with the very very paranoid Saw Guerrera, and how much of a tightrope Luthen has to walk with that guy; Leida's spite-religious (or is it? Is she sincere) leanings that may (or may not?) ease the transition into the marriage that Mon does *not* want to have to set up for her, but doesn't see how to avoid; Vel vs. Kleya-- and I think Kleya is the one that wanted Cassian dead, not Luthen. But that scene! Vel being so Rich Girl, and Kleya being completely done with her crap. And Bix, poor Bix... is she broken yet?

9. B2EM0, awwwwww. He doesn't get death, really. He's like Cassian's little brother, and he misses his mom too.....

10. Watch this show, people. WATCH IT. IT IS SO GOOD. SO SO SO GOOD.

We’re watching Andor! And it’s really, really good. We’re slightly behind, though - I’ve literally just watched ep 8. It’s so… I don’t know, it’s the TV equivalent of a good novel. Slow and stately, in no hurry to get where it’s going, letting all the characters have room to breathe. That scene in ep 7, where cassian goes back to ferrix intending to get Maarva and she refuses to go with him: “that’s just love. There’s no helping that.” So so good.

#1--Oh, absolutely. Maarva's gonna go out with a bang, and I think she's been planning to do so with the aid of the Daughters of Ferrix for a long time now.

#3--I don't think so? I think Cinta's very strict in her role as a watcher, until some Empire dudes need murdering. Perhaps in the (anticipated) chaos of Maarva's funeral.

I am really worried about Bix. She looks broken, it didn't even seem like she could talk. Between her and poor sad Bee and Cassian's call...*sobs quietly*

So, this is funny to me: Andor was largely filmed in the UK, and bits of it are very recognisably, say, Scottish. The thing that I found hilarious, though, was that when Cassian runs off to Planet Miami, it’s clearly intended to come across as a real pleasure resort — hot, sunny, pleasant. But if you look at those outdoor shots, you can really tell that it’s been filmed on a breezy, cool day somewhere on the English coast. Like, it doesn’t LOOK warm at all. That just cracked me up. “Action! Act WARM, everyone!”

I know that bits of Coruscant are places in London - the apartment block where Syril Karn’s mother lives is a real example of Brutalist architecture, and I think the Barbican centre makes an appearance at some point. Honestly the whole thing has a delightfully BBC vibe to it.
